Dr Jacob’s interest lies in GIScience research design, remote sensing, mathematical statistics, and spatial organizational theorems for constructing seasonal arthropod-related infectious diseases (e.g., malaria, West Nile Virus, Multi-Drug Resistant Tuberculosis) simulation models for predicting hyperendemic transmission zones. Dr Jacob’s more recent areas of research are in applied spatial statistics, quantitative geography for spatial predictive infectious disease risk mapping. In chronologically order, he held faculty positions at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and at the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign before moving to USF in 2011.
