MDC Power Outage Update

Due to electrical power equipment failure in the MDC area……the Bookstore will be closed today. A 600 amp breaker which provides electrical power to the Bookstore’s air conditioning unit and some lights there has failed. Physical Plant personnel are working to make the necessary repairs or replace the breaker. They anticipated electrical power will be restored to the area later this evening.

Outage Notfication: USF Health MDC Building Power Outage

Power issues are currently being experienced in the College of Medicine Building which have caused the Air Conditioning to go out in many areas of the buildings. The USF Health Bookstore has been closed as a result, and intermittent issues may arise as a result.

Outage: Network Connectivity Lost at St. Pete Campus

Network connectivity to the internet on the USF Health St. Pete Campus is currently down, which means that no resources at St. Pete will be reachable currently. IS is aware of the issue and working with the Network Provider to fix the problem.

If you receive an email with the subject of Microsoft Outlook Notification for the “email address” there is a zip file attached that contains a virus, please do not open the email or click on the attachment. Our Barracuda system is catching it, so please do not release the email from the spam system otherwise it will be delivered to your Inbox.

Resolved: Main Campus Power Outage (Blackboard Affected)!!!

Currently TECO is experiecing a power issue which is affeacting power on the Main USF Campus. This includes Blackboard for has not been accessible for several hours now, we do not have an ETA from TECO on when this will be fixed. Main Campus IT should be contacted at 813-974-9000 to get complete updates on when Blackboard will be back up.

Emergency Notification System Test

There will be a test of the Emergency Notification System Friday, July 17 at 8 p.m. after normal business hours.

This will be a silent and visual test. The strobes will light one tower at a time over a total test period of approximately three hours.

Again, this will be a test ONLY.

AHCA Using New Encryption Software

Starting today AHCA is using a new e-mail encryption software to communicate with submitting facilities. This new software will provide faster, more reliable and secure encypted communication. However, since this new software is provided by a different software vendor, the changeover will require recipients to register with the new company (IronPort/Cisco).

It’s easy to set up an account with IronPort/Cisco. All you do is:

1.) Open your first communication from IronPort/Cisco. It will contain an attached webpage called “securedoc.html.”

2.) Open “securedoc.html.” This takes you to a webpage with the AHCA logo and an image of an envelope labeled: “Cisco Registered Envelope Service.”

3.) Check the information on the envelope. If it is correct, click on the “Register” link. This will take you to a Cisco web page.

4.) Complete the webform information and click “Register.”

5.) Check your inbox for an e-mail with the subject: “Please activate with CRES.” Complete the activation of your account by clicking on the link contained in this e-mail.

That’s it…you’re done! You then only need to enter your password to open encrypted e-mails from AHCA.

USF Health IS Outage Notification - PCIS- Saturday, July 11th

The “PCIS” application, which includes The Electronic Health Record (Allscripts Touchworks) and GE Flowcast will be unavailable from noon to 6 PM on Saturday, July 11th

The purpose of this outage is to complete the final stages of preparing the Allscripts production environment for enhancements to the structured note. This upgrade is therefore on the back end infrastructure of the PCIS system, and there will not be any change for our customers. This is a prerequisite for the change that will be apparent later.

The HART Data warehouse will be unavailable Friday June 26 at 5pm until Monday June 29 at 8 am for an upgrade. More details will be provided after the upgrade has been completed.
