The 100th Anniversary of the Florida Department of Health’s Tampa Laboratory was a highlight of the College of Public Health’s weeklong celebration Dr. Phil Amuso, director of the Tampa Lab, Florida Department of Health Bureau of Laboratories, speaks at the lab’s 100th Anniversary celebration. Dr. Conti named Outstanding Woman in Public Health

She improved Florida’s emergency response capabilities by creating Strike Teams and To Go kits. She helped found the Florida Rabies and Control and Prevention Advisory Committee. The USF Department of Pediatrics partners with Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) to bring the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile to thousands of underprivileged children and adolescents in the greater Tampa Bay area. School of Pharmacy affiliates with Tampa-based CoreRx

One of many steps necessary in building a school of pharmacy was taken last month when USF cemented an affiliation agreement with local pharmaceutical firm, CoreRx Inc. The multi-faceted agreement will provide for internships for pharmacy students and volunteer teaching by CoreRx Inc. scientists, said Kevin B. USF jumps to top-30 NIH ranking in nursing research

Highly competitive National Institutes of Health awards now account for 65 percent of the USF College of Nursing’s total research funding Tampa, FL (March 31, 2010) — The University of South Florida College of Nursing has achieved its highest research ranking ever from the National Institutes of Health. The College ranked 30th among nursing schools nationwide in NIH funding for 2009* – vaulting from a 66th place ranking in 2008.
