Field experience leads to job offer for Ami Patel
Ms. Ami Patel, MPH, CPH, is an infection control practitioner with Florida Hospital Tampa.
Last fall, Patel completed her field experience in the hospital’s infection control department. Under the mentorship of Ms. Jackie Whitaker, RN, MS, CIC, LHCRM, CPHQ, director of infection control, Patel discovered that the Clostridium difficile BI/NAP1/027 strain found in hospitalized patients does not predict severity of disease.
Ms. Ami Patel earned a master of public health degree in global communicable diseases from the University of South Florida, Department of Global Health. The department also offers online concentrations in infection control that lead to a graduate certificate and MPH degree.
