    Matthew Gilbertson pursues PhD in biopharmaceutical sciences

    Matthew Gilbertson is getting a piece of the rock—Rockford, Illinois that is. This fall Gilbertson heads north to begin a doctoral program at the University of Illinois. His area of concentration is biopharmaceutical sciences. Matthew Gilbertson holds a master of public health degree in epidemiology and global communicable diseases. Recently, he earned a graduate certificate in biostatistics from the USF College of Public Health.

    Health education is priority one for Dale Watson

    Dale Watson is a health education consultant with the Pinellas County Health Department. She’s based in Clearwater and is charged with supervising five community health advocates in an effort to improve health outcomes with primary care clients. Prior to this appointment, Ms. Watson worked in South Sudan with The Carter Center. Ms. Dale Watson earned a master’s degree concentrating in global health practice from the USF College of Public Health.

    Cedric Harville earns doctoral fellowship from University of Florida

    Natalie D. Hernandez, MPH, PhD, is the recipient of the Satcher Health Leadership Institute’s Health Policy Leadership Fellowship. Named after former U.S. Surgeon General David Satcher, the fellowship provides postdoctoral professionals with knowledge, experiences, and skills needed to prepare them for leadership roles in promoting and implementing policies and practices to reduce and ultimately eliminate disparities in health.     Tobacco prevention is Monica Rousseau’s charge with Pasco County

    , Monica Rousseau, MPH, CPH, works with the Tobacco Free Florida Grant for the Pasco County Health Department. In this capacity, she serves as the tobacco prevention program consultant and SWAT (students working against tobacco) coordinator for the county. Additionally, Rousseau is an adjunct instructor with the USF College of Public Health. She teaches Foundations of Public Health Writing in an online format. Ms. Rousseau earned a master’s degree concentrating in health education from the University of South Florida.

    Yao Djilan finds his nitche in veteran’s affairs

      Yao Djilan is a statistician with U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. He works with the central office in Pinellas County and is assigned to disability and medical assessment. Prior to this appointment Yao worked with the James A Haley V.A. Hospital in Tampa as a researcher and statistician in quality management. He earned a master’s degree in epidemiology and biostatistics from the USF College of Public Health.  

    Oh My Gov, Inc. named to inaugural class of USF’s Fast 56

    Richard Hartman, PhD, MPH earned third place honors on USF’s Fast 56 list. Sponsored by the USF Alumni Association, the program recognizes the 56 fastest growing alumni owned and/or operated businesses. Dr. Hartman is co-founder and COO of Oh My Gov, Inc., a platform to track issues, politicians, and governmental agencies.  He holds a doctorate in environmental and occupational health from the USF College of Public Health.     Annie (DeMuth) Hirsch investigates toxic substances in North Carolina

    Annie (DeMuth) Hirsch is a chemical epidemiologist for the Occupational and Environmental Epidemiology Branch of the North Carolina Division of Public Health. She conducts surveillance of toxic substance incidents and is involved in public health preparedness. Prior to this appointment, Hirsch was a CDC/CSTE Applied Epidemiology Fellow.  She worked with chronic disease and injury for the North Carolina Division of Public Health.     Kristin Harsch provides health education to Sarasota residents

    Kristin Harsch, MPH, CPH is a health education consultant with the Sarasota County Health Department. In this capacity, she serves as a program manager for an abstinence education grant funded by the Florida Department of Health. Ms. Harsch earned a master’s degree concentrating in health education from the USF College of Public Health.
