• EPB visiting scholar returns to China

    Jiaqing Chen, PhD, recently concluded a yearlong appointment in the USF College of Public Health’s Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics.

    As a visiting scholar, Dr. Chen worked closely with Yangxin Huang, PhD, associate professor of biostatistics, to develop collaborative research on biostatistical methodologies and applications to health and medical fields. Drs. Chen and Huang co-authored a paper for the International Journal of Biostatistics and have two additional manuscripts currently under review.

    Dr. Jiaqing Chen is an associate professor at Wuhan University of Technology (WHUT) in China and holds a doctorate in statistics. He received a prestigious award from the Chinese government that sponsored his research and study in the United States. Although Dr. Chen has resumed his teaching and research responsibilities at WHUT, his collaborations with departmental faculty will continue.
