Dr. Arlene Calvo presents at the 14th National Conference of Science and Technology
Arlene Calvo, PhD, a research assistant professor in the University of South Florida College of Public Health, presented a poster at the 14th National Conference of Science and Technology. Organized by the Panamanian Association for the Advancement of Science (APANAC), the conference was held October 17-20 in Panama at the City of Knowledge Convention Center.
Dr. Calvo presented on “Integrated Healthcare in the Ngäbe Buglé Comarca: Training the Trainers.” Her poster highlighted the advances of a three-phase community-based educational project in Panama’s Ngäbe Buglé indigenous territory and supported the conference’s overall theme of Science and Technology at the Service of Society.
Dr. Arlene Calvo holds joint appointments with the Departments of Community and Family Health and Global Health. She earned a doctorate in community and family health from the University of South Florida College of Public Health.
