  • MHA Program Accredited by CAHME

As of November 2012, the Master of Health Administration (MHA) degree, offered by the Department of Health Policy and Management in the University of South Florida College of Public Health, became fully accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME).  CAHME accreditation reflects a continuing commitment to excellence in the field of healthcare management and will further increase professional opportunities available to MHA students and graduates.

The MHA program began in the early 1990s and has nearly 200 alumni.  The program currently graduates 10 to 15 students per year.  These graduates are prepared for management positions in health systems, hospitals, physician group practices, health insurance companies, and other health enterprises, as evidenced by the diverse leadership positions held by MHA alumni.

“We sincerely appreciate all who contributed to this 4-year process, in particular the HPM faculty and staff, Dean Donna Petersen, COPH administration and Academic Affairs staff, and our external MHA Advisory Board,” said Barbara Orban, PhD, Associate Professor and MHA Program Director.
