The USF Health Service Corps enables COPH students to volunteer alongside medical, nursing, physical therapy and pharmacy students in a wide variety of meaningful, rewarding and FUN health-related community service activities.

Wednesday, October 9th, 7:00 am – 9:00 am. Walk Your Child to School Day at West Chase Elementary with Safe Kids - You can help educate parents and their children about the benefits of walking or bicycling to school. Free breakfast for volunteers! Up to 5 student volunteers can sign up with Andrea Morales (email@example.com) with Undergraduate Public Health Student Association.
Saturday, October 12th, 10:30 am – 1:30 pm. Gardening Service Day – The USF Health Service Corps will once again team up with the Tampa Bay Refugee Task Force to volunteer at a healthy garden oasis where refugees can grow healthy fruits & vegetables. Specifically, we will be preparing the soil and planting seeds for the fall growing season. Up to 15 student volunteers can sign up with Raymond Hess (firstname.lastname@example.org) with Behavioral Health Student Organization. Saturday, October 12th , 8:00 am – 2:00 pm. No Limits Sports Day at All People’s Life Sports Complex in Temple Terrace – The purpose of this event is to increase families’ awareness of the benefits of recreational or competitive sports for youth (ages 6-21) with physical limitations. As volunteers, you will guide youth through a variety of sports events, including: Soccer; Basketball; Table Tennis; Field Events; Adaptive Tennis; Hand Cycling and Zumba! Up to 15 student volunteers can sign up with Ala Olk-Szost (email@example.com) with Association of Physical Therapy Students. Student volunteers will are asked to download and print these two simple forms No Limits Sports Clinic Volunteer Application and Liability Waiver and bring their completed forms on the day of the event.
COPH graduate students are encouraged to visit the main COPH Student Research website, with links to: Funding Opportunities; Grant Writing Resources; Research Presentations; andFaculty Research Areas & Expertise.
IMPORTANT: COPH graduate students can now apply for theStudent Honorary Awards for Research and Practice (‘SHARP’) which provides a financial incentive to COPH students to complete a body of work to a stage sufficient for presentation at a regional, national, or international professional meeting/ conference. The next deadline will be Monday, October 7th.
COPH students can have their poster presentations for conferences printed free of charge at the COPH center, as long as they use the COPH Vertical Poster Template or the COPH Horizontal Poster Template. If students are presenting oral presentations at conferences, they are asked to use the COPH PowerPoint Template.
