Justin Smith enrolls at Valdosta State University

| Monday Letter, Our Alumni, Undergraduate

Justin Smith is a graduate student at Valdosta State University in Georgia. He is pursuing a master of education degree in higher education leadership (MEd), with a concentration in student affairs.

“Things in Valdosta are PHENOMENAL, especially since I finally get to experience a genuine fall season,” said Smith, a native of Ft. Lauderdale.

Since arriving in Valdosta, Smith earned a graduate assistantship in the Dean’s Office and works with the Student Code of Conduct.  This summer, he plans to incorporate public health into his program of study with an internship in wellness.

In an ideal world, Smith completes his degree in education and accepts a job in student affairs. Student organizations, housing, wellness, and academic advising are all viable options. One thing that is not an option is earning a master of public health degree.

It’s definite.

Justin Smith is a graduate of the University of South Florida. He earned a bachelor of science degree in public health from the College of Public Health.
