In an effort to broaden the dining options for the USF College of Public Health and greater USF Health communities, several enhancements have occurred over the last few months.
October Homecoming festivities featured a Food Truck Rally in USF Health. The trucks were so well received that the food trucks became a permanent fixture.
Thanks to a partnership between USF Dining Services and the Tampa Bay Food Truck Rally, two trucks are stationed outside of the College of Nursing and Shared Student Services buildings every Monday-Thursday from 11am-2pm. A variety of cuisines are represented and the schedule is posted in advance.
Patrons seeking more round the clock options should consider Tareks Café. Conveniently located just north of the College of Public Health, the restaurant features American and Mediterranean cuisines, as well as vegetarian options.
Established in 1993, Tarek’s serves breakfast, lunch, and recently expanded hours to include dinner. As of this spring, the café is open from 7am-6pm on Monday-Friday and from 7am-2pm on Friday. They are closed on the weekend, but catering is available. To learn of their daily specials or view the newly expanded menu, visit http://www.tarekscafe.com.
Members of the USF Health community are invited to support the dining enhancements and, of course, feedback is encouraged.
The food trucks evolved from a September student survey led by Caitlin Wolf, project manager for USF Health Shared Student Services. Questions and suggestions regarding the trucks may be sent to her at firstname.lastname@example.org. Tarek’s Café invites patrons to leave feedback on their website.
