Prevention is the message public health professionals and researchers drive home in the “Advocating for Kids” panel discussion on April 1. The event is followed by an information fair featuring resources to protect children at home, at school, and in the community. Both events are free and open to the public.

Celebrate Public Health Leaders
Celebrating individuals who are catalysts for health is the focus of the college’s annual award ceremony on April 3. The event honors Florida’s Outstanding Woman in Public Health and recognizes excellence in student research, academic scholarship and teaching.
National Public Health Week is sponsored by the American Public Health Association. Since 1995, the group declared the first week in April as “a time to recognize the contributions of public health and highlight issues that are important to improving our nation’s health.”
