Scenes from the holidays
December was a festive time at the University of South Florida College of Public Health. With holiday gatherings planned throughout the month, elves hung garland and decorated public areas with care …
On November 30, Dr. Bill and Selma Sappenfield opened their home to doctoral students, staff, and faculty in the Department of Community and Family Health. Located in Temple Terrace, the Sappenfield’s hosted a wonderful evening of food and conviviality including an opulent spread of bar-b-que meats, salad, and more. Many guests brought homemade treats and the desert table runneth over with delectable sweets. Dr. Sappenfield is a professor and chair of the Department of Community and Family Health.
The sound of music filled the college’s atrium on December 7. Doctoral students and their families celebrated the end of the semester with a festive gathering featuring a violinist and catered holiday fare. The event was hosted by Drs. Deanna Wathington, associate professor and associate dean for Academic and Student Affairs and Rita DeBate, associate professor and director of Doctoral Programs.
On December 17, faculty and staff shared food, laughs, and spirits at the annual Holiday Potluck. The event featured an “Ugly Holiday Sweater” contest with temperatures near 80 degrees. Yikes!
