Student Service Updates
Did you know?
Who ever thought that weeding a garden could be so much fun? Our COPH students had a great time contributing to our recent Gardening Service Day on Friday, September 20th, with the Tampa Bay Refugee Task Force. Our students helped the refugees to clear their summer garden to prepare for the fall gardening season. Additional photos can be viewed at Gardening Service Day and more information about the garden is available at Refugee Garden Oasis.
And guess what? We have been invited to garden with the refugees again on October 12th! Details will be forthcoming in the Fall Service Corps website that will soon be posted at USF Health Service Corps Sponsored Events & Projects.
In the meantime, here is a great service event that our COPH students may wish to participate in along with other USF Health students:

IMPORTANT: COPH graduate students can now apply for theStudent Honorary Awards for Research and Practice (‘SHARP’) which provides a financial incentive to COPH students to complete a body of work to a stage sufficient for presentation at a regional, national, or international professional meeting/ conference. The next deadline will be Monday, October 7th.
COPH students can have their poster presentations for conferences printed free of charge at the COPH center, as long as they use the COPH Vertical Poster Template or the COPH Horizontal Poster Template. If students are presenting oral presentations at conferences, they are asked to use the COPH PowerPoint Template.
