USF Sarasota Manatee officially opens new student science labs in partnership with Mote Marine Laboratories

Donna Petersen, ScD, interim senior vice president for USF Health and dean of the College of Public Health, joined leadership from the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus for a ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating the new student science labs at Mote Marine in Sarasota.

As an agent of collaboration, the USF College of Public Health seeks partnerships that yield powerful, positive change in the community and the world.  Dr. Petersen’s participation represents the college’s continuing efforts to partner with colleagues at the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus and in the communities of Sarasota and Manatee Counties.

During the ribbon cutting ceremony, campus officials announced the official opening of the new biology degree program and thanked attendees who supported the growth in science programs at the USF S-M campus.

USF Health is helping coordinate efforts on behalf of undergraduate biology majors, who may wish to pursue health professions or research careers, by assuring that there are clear pathways available for high performing students at the USF S-M campus.
