After the research methodology speech from last week, the students received lectures on real life clinical research. The distinguished speakers were Alberto Van Olphen PhD and Dr. Nestor Sosa. Dr. Van Olphen gave an insight on “Vaccines Research on Preclinical phases” with an interactive Q&A process. Dr. Sosa presented “Clinical Essays in HIV/AIDS”. Both lectures showed real life experiences from Panama and US.
Dr. Alberto Van Olphen is the Director of Virology of the Global Health Infectious Disease Research Laboratory (GHIDR) from the University of South Florida.
Dr. Nestor Sosa is Infectious Disease specialist and the Director of the Gorgas Commemorative Institute.
