MISSION STATEMENT
The Caribbean Outreach through Medical Missions Association (COMMA) was established this past year to increase awareness about healthcare in the Caribbean to the student population. We aim to serve the diverse Caribbean immigrant communities by encouraging cultural competence among healthcare providers and by bringing attention to the disparities faced by Caribbean immigrants. COMMA also strives to form crucial relationships between health care institutions in Florida and the different Caribbean nations. To help fulfill these goals and educate, we organize an annual medical mission trip to an underserved community in the Caribbean region.
