USF pediatric researcher earns Fulbright Scholar grant

Kersti K. Linask, PhD, professor in the USF Department of Pediatrics is a recipient of a 2012-2013 Fulbright U.S. Scholar grant to do research at Tartu University in Estonia.

Her research project will focus on enhancing the cardiac potential of human mesenchymal stem cells.

Dr. Linask currently holds the Mason Endowed Chair at USF in pediatric cardiovascular research. She received her BA from Russell Sage College, MA from UCLA, and PhD from the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Linask said she is looking forward to interacting with colleagues and students in Estonia in their native language, in which she is fluent, as well as learning about the country.
