USF nursing professor named AACN 2014 Distinguished Research Lecturer

USF College of Nursing Professor Cindy Munro, RN, PhD, was named 2014 Distinguished Research Lecturer by the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN).

Dr. Munro, associate dean for Research and Innovation at the USF College of Nursing, earned the honor for her work in USF’s nursing PhD program, research projects and helping produce the next generation of nurse scientists, as well as her own research that has generated federal funding, including projects funded by the National Institute of Nursing Research for more than 10 years.

Her research examines the impact of oral care in critically ill adults.

The AACN Distinguished Research Lectureship, funded by a grant from Philips Healthcare, recognizes nurses who make significant contributions to high acuity and critical care research.
