The TriDocs continue to medal

Aimed at staying healthy amidst all the studying, the USF Health TriDocs took on another race, with many racing for the first time and two earning medals.

The TriDocs, a group of running and triathlon enthusiasts made up of graduate students at USF Health, competed in the “Best Damn Race” held recently in Safety Harbor with 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon races. It was many students’ first ever run of such distances, said Monique Konstantinovic, a second-year medical student and a founder of the TriDocs.

Earning medals were Konstantinovic, with a first-place finish for her age group, and Jacob Blount, also a second-year medical student, with a second-place finish in his age group. Both medaled in the 10K run.

TriDocs started when medical and physical therapy students who wanted to compete in triathlons – an endurance race involving swimming, cycling and running in immediate succession – wanted to come together to train. The club’s activities also give the graduate-level students a break from studying.

The TriDocs is open to all graduate students at USF Health. Students at all levels of training are welcome: the club includes those in training for their first triathlon as well as more seasoned athletes like Konstantinovic, who was a member of USF’s track and cross country team as an undergraduate and competes regularly in triathlons. For more information about joining the group, email Konstantinovic at, or visit USF TriDocs’ facebook page.
