University Distinguished Professor Jeffrey Krischer, PhD, one of the world’s top National Institutes of Health researchers, was among the 31 USF Health Morsani College of Medicine scholars inducted into the Robert A. Good Honor Society (RGHS) Class of 2018 this spring.

Twenty-five medical students, five faculty members and one alumnus are the latest members of the RGHS – which was established by the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine in 2017 in honor of Dr. Robert A. Good, one of the medical school’s greatest scientists, teachers and mentors.

The competitive society was formed to recognize and honor medical students, faculty and alumni who have demonstrated exemplary commitment and outstanding contributions to improve health outcomes through research, innovation and scholarly endeavors.

At the group’s induction ceremony this May, part of graduation week activities, inductees received a medallion with an emblem representing his Dr. Good’s legacy. This “Discovery Torch” emblem has three components. The double helix symbolizes Dr. Good’s role as a father of immunology, the torch symbolizes the flame of discovery, and the serpent symbolizes his work in medicine and science.
