MCOM student earns $3,000 scholarship in gynecologic oncology

Anaisy Pargas, a fourth-year USF Health Morsani College of Medicine student, was one of 11 Florida medical school students to receive the 2018-2019 Dr. Robert C. Knapp Medical Student Award.  Pargus is one of three USF Health medical student to receive the award.  MCOM alumni Sasha Gourgue, class of 2015, and Camila Cabrera, class of 2017, are prior recipients.  The Knapp Award, administered by Hearing the Ovarian Cancer Whisper, was established in 2011 to allow Florida medical students to work with a board certified or other eligible gynecologic oncologist in research, clinical practice or educational projects.  Each award recipient receives a $3,000 scholarship.
