Jessica Brumley named a fellow of national nurse-midwife group

USF Health’s Jessica Brumley, CNM, PhD, FACNM, was recently inducted as a fellow in the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM).

Dr. Brumley, assistant professor and director of the Division of Midwifery in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Morsani College of Medicine, was one of 43 nurse-midwives inducted into the fellowship program at the group’s annual meeting held in May in Savannah, GA.

Fellowship in the ACNM is earned by midwives who have demonstrated leadership, clinical excellence, outstanding scholarship, and professional achievement, and who have merited special recognition both within and outside of the midwifery profession. Less than 5 percent of ACNM members are fellows.

Dr. Brumley has served ACNM as the chair of the Basic Education Section of the Division of Education and as secretary of the Midwives of Color Committee.
