USF Health honors the Hillsborough County/USF Health COVID test site team as Culture Champions

Remaining professional, calm and diligent when administrating COVID-19 tests — while also protecting yourself from contracting the disease — is not for the faint of heart.

The Hillsborough County/USF Health COVID test site team, a group of dedicated USF Health medical personnel, recently received culture coins from Mark Moseley, MD, chief medical officer for USF Health, and Terri Ashmeade, MD, chief quality officer at USF Health.

“This award went to this team because they have been the cornerstone of USF Health’s clinical response to COVID,” Dr. Ashmeade said.

“This team was providing testing services before Hillsborough County established its mass testing sites,” she continued. “They then stepped forward to support those sites.  They have served as door screeners, provided care to COVID-positive patients who required ambulatory visits with our care providers, manned our COVID phone lines in the call center, and worked every Saturday for months to test patients of our ASC to make sure they can safely undergo their procedures.  When we talk about the front-line heroes of USF Health these are the people we are talking about. They are truly unstoppable.”

The Hillsborough County/USF Health COVID test site team recipients included Aisha Clark, Rosa Pina, Evany Dera, Alyssa O’Berry, Carman Guzman, Christine Kilfoyl, Monica Fernandez, Lisa Peco, Jennifer Anderson, Connie Smailes, Kimberly Mosley and Dwayne Brooks.

Melissa Pierre Paul, Diargys Brooks, and Jessica Morales (not pictured) could not join the original culture coin celebration, so they were awarded their coins on a later date.
