This Culture Champion is Epic

Epic is an electronic medical record system (EMR) and leading provider in hospitals and Academic Medical Centers with enterprise solutions for inpatient and ambulatory clinical, departmental, access, revenue cycle and practice management functions. Helping to build, maintain, and troubleshoot Epic, is USF Health Information Technology team member, Sean Dailey, senior Epic analyst/product owner. According to Terri Ashmeade, MD,¬†chief quality officer for USF Health,¬†“for several years, Sean has been on the front lines helping USF develop innovative solutions with Epic to improve the quality and efficiency of care delivered to USF Health patients. He has collaborated with the quality and clinical operations teams as well as or providers and staff to ‘Make life Better’ for all of us and our patients.”

Not only have Sean’s contributions been vital to the successful roll out of USF Health’s COVID-19 screening, testing, telehealth, and vaccination efforts, but he stands out for his “can-do” attitude. “His response to every challenge is, ‘we will figure out how to get this done,’ often coming up with a better solution than the team expected,” Dr. Ashmeade said. “Collaborative + gritty+ accountable + excellent + compassionate + respectful = Sean Dailey.”

Dailey was recognized on January 21st, 2021, by Dr. Ashmeade and Mark Moseley, MD, MHA, CPE, chief clinical officer for USF Health, alongside fellow Information Technology teammates.
