MCOM alum earns top honors at Spring FAFP forum

Amanda Pitre, MD, USF Health Morsani College of Medicine class of 2021, recently earned top honors at the Florida Academy of Family Physicians Scholar Poster Presentation in the student category during the organization’s spring forum.  Her poster was titled “Contraception Use and Counseling at a Student-Run Free Clinic” and examined the types of contraception used by patients at the USF Health BRIDGE Healthcare Clinic to determine how effectively clinic staff provided appropriate annual contraceptive counseling. The work has also has also been submitted for publication.

The BRIDGE Clinic is a student-run free clinic located on the fifth floor of the Frank and Carol Morsani Center for Advanced Healthcare.  Dr. Pitre is an obstetrics-gynecology resident at the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine.
