On Friday, Oct. 24, the USF College of Public Health hosts its annual Free Flu Shot Drive. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommend that everyone ages 6 months and older get a seasonal flu vaccine annually to reduce the risk of illness, including hospitalization.
This is the 18th year of the college’s flu shot drive for adults 18 and older. The longstanding community service is a collaboration between the college, USF Health and the Hillsborough County Health Department, which provides more than 1,000 doses of vaccines to help protect against this year’s flu strains.
The drive is from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. or while supplies last. Shots are administered on a first-come, first-served basis. The college is located at 13201 Bruce B. Downs Blvd. in Tampa.
