How can I get rid of my vertical lip lines?!
Patients come in everyday seeking treatment for their “smoker’s lines” and are often distraught having never smoked a day in their lives. Belotero is a unique new product that we are excited to introduce into the marketplace. Prior to Belotero we treated vertical lip lines and superficial smile lines with other hyaluronic acid products such as Juvederm and Restylane. However, these products often have more of a fill capacity and therefore don’t achieve correction of the fine lines without overcorrection and sometimes lumps and bumps. Also, when these products are placed superficially they risk showing a “Tyndall effect” in which the area has a blue discoloration due do to the optical properties of the filler. Now with Belotero we are able to place this product into superficial lines with no risk of “Tyndall effect” or lumps and bumps.

This product is designed not only to treat volume loss like the other hyaluronic fillers on the market, but it has the ability to treat these delicate lines by giving it the soft fill we need without overfilling the upper lip area. Belotero lasts as long as most other hyaluronic acid fillers, which is about 6-9 months. The most common areas we inject this fine line filler are perioral lip lines, crow’s feet, and smile lines. This product integrates beautifully into fine lines creating a soft natural fill without looking over corrected.
