Radiesse is a calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHa) dermal filler used to treat moderate to severe folds and wrinkles. Immediately after injection, the tiny microspheres filled with CaHa help to correct volume loss in the skin, similar to how the more common hyaluronic acid dermal fillers work. A distinguishing factor unique to Radiesse is that those microspheres break down and assist the body in stimulating its own internal collagen production over time. Shortly after the procedure the hands are left looking more supple and youthful. It is important to note that unlike other hyaluronic acid fillers (ex. Juvederm, Restylane), Radiesse cannot be reversed after injection. The results of this safe and effective filler have been known to last up to two years and does not require allergy testing.
What to expect during and after treatment:
Radiesse is safely injected into the skin of the hands
Ice will be used to minimize discomfort
Moderate bruising and swelling that varies from patient to patient
