This year the holidays are especially busy for Ahresh Edjlali.
In addition to spending quality time with family and friends, the recent University of South Florida graduate is preparing for a cross country move from the humid southeast to the arid southwest.
Albuquerque, New Mexico is home to the University of St. Francis. It’s also Edjlali’s new home as he begins their physician assistant program in January.
A native of Lexington, Kentucky, Edjlali sees public health and medicine as the perfect marriage. “ … public health is an exciting field of study, which not only challenged me to confront complex health issues, but also encouraged me to be a change agent in improving healthcare for others.”
If there is such a thing as a ‘dream job,’ his is to practice as a primary care physician assistant, with an emphasis on providing healthcare to underserved populations.
“I believe my education in public health provided me with an excellent foundation for my future career as a physician assistant.”
Ahresh Edjlali earned a bachelor of science degree in public health from the University of South Florida College of Public Health.
