The Lawton and Rhea Chiles Center for Healthy Mothers and Babies is proud to have Michael C. Lu, MD, MS, MPH, as the distinguished speaker for its Annual Lawton Chiles Lecture on Maternal and Child Health in America on Friday, April 5 at noon in the USF College of Public Health Auditorium.
Dr. Lu joined the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) under the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services as their Associate Administrator of Maternal and Child Health in 2011. The mission of his Bureau is “to provide leadership, in partnership with key stakeholders, to improve the physical and mental health, safety and well-being of mothers, children and families.” Before joining the HRSA, Dr. Lu already was recognized as a leading authority in MCH research, practice and policy.
