Patrick Vander Kelen Receives Travel Award

Patrick Vander Kelen, a PhD (student in Dr. Tom Unnasch’s laboratory) was awarded the Kelly Labell Travel Award by the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene.  This award in the amount of $2000 will pay Patrick’s travel expenses to go to the annual meeting of the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene and present his research.  Congratulations Patrick!

Recent Service Events Update

COPH Doctoral Student Welcomes Family Member

Jordana Frost Accepted into Doctoral Program

In the coming month, Jordana Frost, CLC, will graduate with her MPH (CFH)  and move to Connecticut. This fall she begins the public health doctoral program at Boston University. Congratulations and best of luck with her new educational endeavors!

EOH Graduate Students Present at Meeting

The Environmental and Occupational Health (EOH) graduate students, Samantha Fridh, Ryan Michael, and Haofei Yu presented their research at the 2011 international meeting of the Air and Waste Management Association, held the week of June 21st in Orlando, Florida.  Ms. Fridh and Mr. Yu also received recognition in the student poster competition for their work.  Ms. Fridh won 2nd place in the MS student competition for her poster, titled “A spatial investigation of highly resolved environmental benzene concentrations using passive sampling”.  Mr. Yu won 3rd place in PhD student competition, […]
