OSHA Issues Final Rule for Changes to Cranes and Derricks Standard


To address concerns about sufficient training requirements, OSHA has extended the time frame for crane operator certification and the employer duty to ensure compliance by three years. Initially, requirements needed to be met by November 9, 2014. The new date for compliance is Nov. 10, 2017. OSHA has already begun the process of clarifying and developing new crane operator qualifications to enhance the safety of construction sites. Click here to learn more about the final rule.
