As of Friday, November 16, graduate students in the University of South Florida College of Public Health can access field opportunities via a new, on-line Field Experience Database.
“The journey has been long, but thanks to a number of individuals in the USF College of Public Health and USF Health IT the ‘dream database’ is finally a reality!,” said Natalie D. Preston-Washington, Manager of Career Development and Field Experience.
Regardless of their location, graduate students can log into the database with their USF Health user name and access more than 200 listings. Once in the database, students are able to search for current opportunities by keyword, region, concentration, etc. If a student secures a field experience that is currently in the database, they can ‘apply’ for a particular semester and details from the field opportunity will automatically populate the field experience application.
“The online database allows the college to better serve students,” said Preston-Washington. “The days of field experience e-mails with 50+ attachments are over. Now that’s something we can all be thankful for!”
