Dr. Matt Tucker Wins USF Outstanding Dissertation Award

Matthew S. Tucker (PhD; Global Health) was selected as a recipient of the 2010-2011 USF Outstanding Thesis/Dissertation Award! Matt’s dissertation research entitled “Phenotypic and Genotypic Analysis of In Vitro Selected Artemisinin Resistant Plasmodium falciparum” was conducted in Prof. Dennis Kyle’s Lab. Following his graduation in December 2010 Matt served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the College of Coastal Georgia prior to accepting a position at the Biomedical Research Institute (BRI) in Rockville, MD. BRI is a not-for-profit research institute, with a major emphasis on basic research in schistosomiasis, and has served as the Schistosomiasis Resource Center for the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease for over 30 years. Matt will receive this prestigious award during the Scholars of Excellence event, which will be held during the Spring 2012 semester (the date of this event is not yet confirmed).
