COPH hosts Peace Corps Week Festival, March 2

The University of South Florida is celebrating National Peace Corps Week, Sunday, February 26 – Friday, March 3, 2017.  A special event is planned for Thursday, March 2 at 4:30 p.m.  At this time, the USF System President Judy Genshaft will officially announce four new Coverdell Fellows programs in civil and environmental engineering, applied anthropology, global sustainability, and public health.  These programs provide incentives for individuals who have completed Peace Corps service to enroll in graduate study at USF.

USF is also home to a brand new Peace Corps Prep program designed for undergraduate students. The program enhances students’ undergraduate experience by preparing them for international development fieldwork and potential Peace Corps service. USF will implement the program in concert with the Global Citizens Project.

The Peace Corps Festival is scheduled from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. at the of the College of Public Health (COPH).  The kick-off event begins at 4:30 p.m. in the COPH Auditorium and the festival begins thereafter.
