Office of Research
The University of South Florida and the College of Public Health have a distinguished history of discovery of new knowledge. USF COPH is now ranked 16th in the nation, up from 21st. The Office of Research has responsibility for the College’s research enterprise, encompassing a broad spectrum of services. It provides pre-award and post-award administrative services for sponsored projects, and together, it works to foster the continuation of those creative endeavors and to promote an environment that sustains the highest standards of scholarship, health and safety.
Last year, the Office of Research received more than $25 million in funding. This year, it is already close to matching that at 22 million, with one-third of the fiscal year left to go. The research team oversees the management of its research programs and assists investigators seeking external funding, promotes interdisciplinary research, and manages awards throughout the sponsored research life cycle – from proposal development through financial administration and award closeout. It serves as a liaison with the USF Division of Sponsored Research and Research Financial Management.
