Seven in 10 pregnancies among unmarried women 18-29 are described by women themselves as unplanned. That’s why Bedsider.org was created. Its goal is to help women learn about their birth control options, better manage their birth control, and, in the process, avoid getting pregnant until they’re ready.
Bedsider is a program of The National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy, a private non-profit organization. There are Bedsider chapters on college campuses all over the country, and at USF Health we have the unique opportunity to bring this patient resource to the attention of current and future healthcare professionals. This organization is not funded by pharmaceutical companies or the government. Bedsider uses humor and clear language (available in English and Spanish) to improve contraceptive use and its content touches on love, relationships, birth control, and everything in between.
