Alicia Rossiter to discuss military and veterans health at Jonas Center events

USF College of Nursing military liaison, Alicia Rossiter, MSN, ARNP, FNP, PNP-BC, will be presenting on military and veterans health issues at two major Jonas Center for Nursing and Veterans Healthcare conferences.

Rossiter, who is also the USF Nursing’s coordinator of graduate simulation, will be the guest speaker at the Jonas Center’s Board meeting in New York City, June 3 through June 4. She will then present at the Third Annual Jonas Center Golf Classic on June 5 in Greenwich, Conn. Rossiter will present on military and veterans health issues alongside Linda Schwartz, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ assistant secretary of veterans affairs for policy and planning.

As a USF Nursing DNP student, Rossiter was the recipient of the 2012-2014 Jonas Veterans Healthcare Program Scholarship. The grant supported her research on women veterans health issues including military sexual trauma, PTSD, disordered eating and sleep. She recently received additional scholarship funding from Jonas Center for her research through 2016. In addition, Rossiter was selected to be part of the inaugural cohort of the military and veteran health panel for the American Academy of Nursing Jonas Health Policy Scholars.
