Associate Professor of midwifery and nursing, Cecilia Jevitt, CNM, PhD and nursing doctoral candidate, Jessica Brumley, CNM, ARNP are providing an innovative alternative to traditional individual prenatal checkups. Designing and offering group prenatal care with a focus on optimal nutrition, caloric intake and physical activity at the USF Medical Clinics is part of their Sigma Theta Tau International and Johnson & Johnson Leadership Academy project on preventing excessive weight gain in pregnancy.
