Clinical Lab Kits and Scrubs Mark Memorable Moment
USF College of Nursing Assistant Professor and Director of the Center for Virtual Simulation, Laura Gonzalez, PhD, ARNP, CNE, presents a lab kit to nursing student, Lydia Miller, during the first week of classes.
On May 16, 2011, incoming University of South Florida baccalaureate nursing students started classes at the College of Nursing. During that first week of classes, students and faculty gathered for clinical team photos and captured an important moment in time, one of the very first occasions that the incoming students attended class in scrubs adorned with the USF College of Nursing seal.
Also during the first week of classes, students receive lab kits that they will utilize during clinical skills labs throughout their first 3 semesters in the College of Nursing. Each kit contains a foley catheter, wound care dressing supplies, tracheostomy care and suctioning equipment, intravenous start kits and central venous line dressing equipment. These essential supplies afford students the opportunity to master important clinical skills.
