College of Nursing celebrates USF Homecoming

College of Nursing celebrates USF Homecoming

College of Nursing students, faculty, staff and alumni joined other USF Health colleges to celebrate USF Homecoming.

During the week-long celebrations, USF Health colleges, under the leadership of Edwin Hernandez, assistant director of alumni relations at USF Nursing, and Kristin Steffen, project manager and contract administrator for the Office of the Senior Vice President at USF Health, came together to host several events and put together the USF Health Homecoming float. More than a dozen USF Nursing students took part in these celebrations.

Once Upon A Homecoming was the theme this year.

The USF Health float consisted of the Now and Then idea including two trucks decorated in gray (then) and gold (now). Each truck represented one era: the alumni from class of 1975 and current students.

Students also joined festivities at the USF Homecoming parade where they threw green and gold beads and candy to spectators. They even included the big “nameless” nursing bear on the float, which was a big hit!
