College of Nursing staff member, Janice Walker, receives USF Research Administrator certificate
University of South Florida College of Nursing Post Award Research Administrator, Janice Walker, recently earned the USF TRAIN Certified Research Administrator (TCRA) certificate. This research certification demonstrates Walker’s commitment to excellence in research administration at USF.
“Completing the TRAIN curriculum gives me a great sense of personal satisfaction,” Walker said. “This will also help College of Nursing because I have received training that enhances my knowledge about USF and Sponsor policies and procedures for appropriate grant and contract management.”

Walker has been working for USF College of Nursing for six years, and her primary role is to manage post-award budgets, assist assigned principal investigators with project awards, and serve as a knowledge resource for grant interpretation, application rules, policies and procedures. The TCRA certificate is a requirement for her position at USF.
“We are so proud of Walker’s accomplishment of receiving the Research Administrator Certification.” said Anne Phillips, Chief Operating Officer and Director of Administrative Affairs for USF College of Nursing. “We are so thankful for everything she does for the College.”
Walker will be recognized for the accomplishment by USF President, Judy Genshaft, PhD, and Senior Vice President for Research and Innovation, Dr. Paul Sanberg, PhD, at the USF TRAIN Awards Luncheon on Dec. 4, 2013.
