Diego Cerquera Receives Student of the Month Community Service Award

COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD RECIPIENT:

Diego Cerquera USF Nursing student of the month june 2012

June 2012 Undergraduate Student recipient: Diego Cerquera

Diego Cerquera volunteered for Paint Your Heart Out. Paint Your Heart Out is nonprofit organization that utilizes volunteers to paint and make essential repairs to homes of low income, senior, disabled, and veteran homeowners. Diego assisted in painting and making home repairs. Moreover, Diego befriended one of the recipients and continued giving support by attending the recipient’s music recital.

Diego Cerquera volunteered for Nursing Heroes: Tampa Historical Center. Nursing Heroes: Tampa Historical Center is a special exhibit that honors local nurses for opening the first hospital to treat Black patients, establishing a midwifery program to improve survival rates of mothers and infants, and developing a scientific theory of nursing practice to improve health care.

Diego Cerquera also volunteered for “Spruce Up” Project USF Health Service Corps. and the Women’s Health Fair: Tampa Convention Center.
