Dr. Cadena to receive Kent State Nursing Distinguished Alumnae Award

Sandra J. Cadena, PhD, APRN, CNE, Assistant Professor and Coordinator of Global Health at the University of South Florida College of Nursing was recognized by Kent State University College of Nursing as a Distinguished Alumnae and a Nursing Leader in Education in celebration of the the college’s 45th anniversary.

Dr. Cadena, who received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from KSU in 1977, is one of seven alumni from over 8,000 graduates being recognized with this distinguished award. She will be honored at KSU’s annual Excellence in Nursing Education event in the fall.

Sandra J. Cadena, PhD, APRN, CNE, Assistant Professor and Director of the Center for Global Health at the University of South Florida College of Nursing has been recognized by Kent State University College of Nursing as a Distinguished Alumnae and a Nursing Leader.

“I am humbled and pleased,” Dr. Cadena said. “It is an unexpected acknowledgment of my achievements since my humble beginnings as an undergraduate student.”

This is not Dr. Cadena’s only KSU alumnae award. In 2010, she received KSU’s 100th Anniversary Award as the College of Nursing’s Distinguished Alumna.
