“My presentation was mostly focused on prevailing theories of addiction (moral failure vs. chronic disease), pathophysiologic changes in the brain and practical interventions that support these families in the NICU,” reported Dr. Maguire.

NICU Family Support, a March of Dimes program, addresses the needs of parents, siblings and other family members during the transition home and in the event of a newborn death.
