Dr. Meredeth Rowe and USF Nursing Team Participate in Alzheimer’s Association Walk

Meredeth A. Rowe, RN, PhD, FGSA, FAAN, Professor and Endowed Chair at University of South Florida College of Nursing, participated in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk on Sept. 29, 2012 at the Curtis Hixon Park in Tampa, Fla. USF College of Nursing students, faculty, and staff joined Dr. Rowe to raise awareness and funds to fight Alzheimer’s disease. The walk is part of USF Health Caregiving’s effort to advance research to treat and prevent Alzheimer’s, and provide programs to improve the lives of millions of affected Americans.

“We are walking to help reclaim the future for millions,” said the USF Health Caregiving team on their Alzheimer’s Association official page for this race. “By participating in the 2012 Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s, we are committed to raising awareness and funds for Alzheimer research, care and support.”

Dr. Rowe and the USF College of Nursing team raised $500. “The USF Caregiving Team had a great walk,” Dr. Rowe said. “We met a number of groups that can facilitate subject recruitment and enjoyed the two mile walk.”
