Dr. Theresa Beckie to discuss heart disease at USF Health Luncheon
Heart disease, strokes and high blood pressure are the leading cause of death amongst men and women in the United States. To increase awareness of heart disease, USF Health is hosting a Women’s Heart Health Luncheon on Feb. 3 at the Center for Advanced Medical Learning and Simulation (CAMLS).
Theresa Beckie, PhD, RN, FAHA, cardiovascular health researcher and professor at USF Nursing, is one of the guest speakers at the luncheon and will be discussing cardiovascular care and women’s health.
Dr. Beckie has been a long-time advocate for women with cardiovascular disease and has received nationwide recognition for her life-changing research on the disease.
February is American Heart Month, a time that brings awareness to heart disease as well as provide opportunities to learn about risks and prevention.
