Dr. Versie Johnson-Mallard presents on social media and cancer control and prevention during NCI webinar

Versie M. Johnson-Mallard, PhD, ARNP, MSN, MSMS, associate professor for University of South Florida College of Nursing, presented during a National Cancer Institute (NCI) webinar on Nov. 19, 2013. The webinar, sponsored by the Robert Wood Johnson Nurse Faculty Scholars Program, focused on the use of social media for cancer control and prevention.

Dr. Johnson-Mallard, whose research focuses on women’s health, human Papilloma Virus (HPV) and sexually transmitted infection prevention, discussed the efficacy of Second Life as an education intervention in improving HPV knowledge, which is a virus linked to causing cervical cancer.
