Dr. Versie Johnson-Mallard Speaks at XIII Pan American Nursing Research Colloquium

University of South Florida College of Nursing Assistant Professor, Versie M. Johnson-Mallard, PhD, ARNP, MSN, MSMS, spoke at the XIII Pan American Nursing Research Colloquium at the Loews Hotel in Miami Beach, September 5 through September 7, 2012. Dr. Johnson-Mallard was asked to participate in the symposium for her continuing commitment to nursing research and interventions.

University of South Florida College of Nursing Assistant Professor, Versie M. Johnson-Mallard, PhD, ARNP, MSN, MSMS, was invited to speak at the XIII Pan American Nursing Research Colloquium at the Loews Hotel in Miami Beach, September 5 through September 7, 2012. Dr. Johnson-Mallard was asked to participate in the symposium for her continuing commitment to nursing research and interventions.

“I was honored to be chosen to speak at this event,” Dr. Johnson-Mallard said. “This symposium gave me an opportunity to present and discuss research focused in the integration of technology into programs of intervention to address health disparities.”

The prestigious biennial colloquium brought together nursing leaders, scholars, and students from around the world to tackle pressing nursing research challenges of the 21st century. The theme of the 2012 colloquium was called “Global Nursing Research Challenges for the Millennium.”

Various innovative technologies were presented including second life, internet-based interventions, the use of games with avatars, and computer-assisted interventions, according to the XIII Pan American Nursing Research Colloquium’s web site.
